WODBuilders exists because most athletes spend more time searching for workouts than training. We built a generator that handles programming so athletes can focus on the work. Every guide on this site is written by coaches with real credentials and real athletes behind them.

I started coaching CrossFit in 2012 after spending three years as a competitive athlete trying every program I could find. Most of them were either too generic, too complicated, or written by people who had never coached a real athlete through a real plateau. I became a coach to fix that problem.

Over twelve years, I have coached athletes from their first pull-up to their first podium finish. I have prepped over 400 athletes for CrossFit competition and Hyrox races — from first-timers aiming to finish to competitive athletes targeting sub-60-minute Hyrox times. The programming principles I use are the same ones that inform every workout this generator produces.

Hyrox changed the way I think about endurance and functional fitness. Prepping athletes for their first Hyrox race — watching someone who thought they were "just a gym person" cross a race finish line — is the most consistently satisfying coaching experience I have had. The training demands are specific, the progress is measurable, and the sport rewards athletes who are willing to do the unsexy work: running, running, and more running.

Every guide on WODBuilders reflects what I would tell a coached athlete, not what sounds good in an article. If something is a common mistake, I will say it is a common mistake. If something does not work in practice, I will not pretend it does to fill a word count.

What WODBuilders Is For

WODBuilders is a free WOD generator built around the principle that programming should be accessible to any athlete, not just those who can afford a personal coach or a premium app subscription. You choose your level, your equipment, your time, and your training style — the generator handles the programming logic.

The training guides on this site are written to the same standard I apply when coaching in person: no filler, no generic advice that sounds good but does not work in a session, no hedging. If the research says something clearly, I say it clearly. If practice experience contradicts conventional wisdom, I say that too.
